General Discussion / Using Variable in Paths
« on: December 23, 2011, 10:57:30 AM »
We did a quick test using a %Variable% for part of a file path.  This seems to work great for copy, delete and other simple commands, but not for Clarion Compile commands?  Should this work?

Ideas for Build Automator actions / Setup Builder 7 Support
« on: January 18, 2010, 01:53:33 PM »
Need Release Support (example: sb7.exe /C "C:\SB_Work\MyInstall.sb7" /R "New" /L "C:\SB_Work\Logs")
Verify that it is checking for existence of LOG and resulting EXE.  If EXE doesn't exist, then error.  If LOG DOES exist, then error.
Also, ensure that the resulting EXE is deleted prior to compile, and the log file (if it exists) is deleted prior to compile.
All of these are important, or you can get false positives, OR false negatives.

Thanks,

General Discussion / Re: FTP Features
« on: March 13, 2009, 11:51:30 PM »
I set up 3 FTP upload items:

Upload 56 files to ftp.tcstire.com/download/buildtest/
Upload 09 files to ftp.tcstire.com/download/buildtest/App_Code
Upload 02 files to ftp.tcstire.com/download/buildtest/App_Code/_notes

The ftp.tcstire.com/download/buildtest/ directory existed.

The error is attached...kinda hard to read.

Here is the log:
002-0002 23:37:23.000 *EXECUTE    Upload 9 files to ftp.tcstire.com/download/buildtest/App_Code
23:37:33.531 ERROR       Upload failed - Error = File unavailable
550 download/buildtest/App_Code: No such file or directory
 command = ChangeDir
002-0003 23:40:25.078 *EXECUTE    Upload C:\_Current\ePower\eCommerce\App_Code\_notes\dwsync.xml to ftp.tcstire.com/download/buildtest/App_Code/_notes
23:40:35.578 ERROR       Upload failed - Error = File unavailable

General Discussion / FTP Features
« on: March 13, 2009, 10:57:50 PM »
I am wondering if you have any plans for enhancing the ftp features.  I would like to use BA to post website releases.  We host websites and would like to post files for each client.  Here is the setup and tell me if this would ever be possible.  All the files are in version control...including the BA files.

x:\ProjectX\Release - holds all the the website files...many directories and many files.
x:\clients\ABC - holds the clients settings and customize graphics.

I know I could create 1 project with 1 project item per client.

BA needs to:
- delete all files & folders from current site
- upload x:\ProjectX\Release - files with complete directory structure.
- upload x:\clients\ABC - files with complete directory structure.

From my testing, the current version will not handle the directory structures?  All files go into the same folder.

Thanks for the help!

General Discussion / Re: File Actions - Get Version Information
« on: January 13, 2009, 01:26:18 PM »
No problem, I just got excited when we seen it.  I want to use it for pushing out testing versions.  Will there be anyway to use the Create Folder with File Version to create a folder like: "Product 7.14.1.1297" ?

If so...waaahooo!

Also, PLEASE remember...there are 2 version on a file...file version and product version.  It would be nice to be able to access both...

PS Andy said you could handle getting this done!  ;D

How does the File Actions - Get Version Information work?  When I double click on the action I get the follow message:

ERROR: Vendor Action doesn't exist
The Vendor Action for this action does not exist.

I am reviewing Build Automator to use with a group of programmers, but I am confused about the project files.  Example, I set up a project which uses files which all programmers would have on their PCs (same paths) but I want to check the project files into Version Control system.  Which project files from Build Automator would I check in?  Are the aprj files all I need? or do I need the sub directories?

Thanks,

Terry
